Prior to joining Fosxil Petroleum, Brian Low has accumulated over 25 years of commercial experience in various fields, taking up advisory and consultancy roles in more recent years. Brian built his mid career with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd for 15 years, where he held trading and managerial roles in Fuels, Lubricants, Commercial Road Transport (Shell Card) and Bitumen, as the National Sales Manager for Commercial Road Transport (Shell Card), Regional Country Business Manager for Malaysia & Singapore (Bitumen and Specialties products) and Bitumen Business Development Project Manager (Asia region).
One of his proudest personal achievements and contributions to the Malaysian road construction fraternity was leading the country team’s successful advocacy with Malaysian road authorities and road contractors to upgrade the bitumen grade specifications in Sabah and Sarawak from Penetration Grade 80/100 to 60/70, paving the way for the new bitumen grade to be launched in Sabah in Jan 2016, followed by Sarawak in Feb 2016 (

The latter has a stiffer physical property and higher tolerance towards road deformation. Compared with the former, 60/70 has a higher softening point vis-à-vis temperature, making it more suitable for Malaysia’s hot and humid climate. Roads paved with 60/70 generally last longer and require lesser maintenance.
